Armenia, located in Southwestern Asia, is officially known as the Republic of Armenia and it is a landlocked country. It is the 2nd most heavily populated nation of the former Soviet Union. It is a member of the World Trade Organization, the United Nations, the Asian Development Bank, the Council of Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States and around 40 other international organizations. Agriculture contributes significantly towards the economy of Armenia and employs around 50% of the population. Chief crops of Armenia include potatoes, olives, cotton, grapes and dairy products.
